The Tanist’s Annual Charity
Honoring Our Heritage through Compassionate Action
The House of Boyd Society is proud to support the Tanist’s Annual Charity Initiative, an effort championed by our Tanist, the Honorable Simon Boyd. With a deep sense of purpose and a commitment to serving others, the Tanist has cast a vision for the House of Boyd to engage meaningfully in humanitarian and charitable causes as an expression of our shared heritage, values, and global kinship.
Each year, the Tanist, together with the President and Vice President of the Society, recommends a group of charitable organizations that reflect our core values of service, dignity, and justice. These recommendations are then carefully reviewed and discussed, and one charity is selected. Due diligence is conducted before the final proposal is presented to the Board for further discussion, approval, or, if necessary, revision.
Our Commitment on Giving Tuesday
Donations to these selected charities are made by the Society annually on Giving Tuesday—a global day of generosity held each year on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving in the United States. Created in 2012, Giving Tuesday is a worldwide movement that encourages people and organizations to come together in acts of kindness and charitable giving, especially as the holiday season begins. It is a powerful opportunity to give back to communities in need and support meaningful work being done around the world.
Through the Tanist’s Annual Charity initiative, the House of Boyd Society joins this global movement, making a tangible impact and honoring our ancestral legacy not just through remembrance but through compassion in action.
